Weight Training
For years we have tried to become stronger by adding weights to our training program. By adding weight to the routine the muscle adapts to the load and becomes stronger. Vibro-training was developed according to the concept of "Whole Body Vibration" (WBV). This training method slightly destabilizes the user in a controlled way. By forcing the body to regain it's balance, muscular contraction is automatically induced. Even without any conscious effort, training effects are achieved.
In Vibration Training the acceleration factor is increased significantly (more than three fold when the plate frequency is 40Hz) increasing the force exerted and building muscular strength without the need for additional weights.
The Vibrations lead to increased blood flow, hormonal release and the activation of stabilizing muscles.

Weight Loss
Most over weight people do WANT to get better, they struggle with their weight and are frustrated by it.
The Vibrational Gym is perfect for those of you who find even the thought of exercise too difficult.
You can consider Vibration exercise as a very effective early adoption of exercise. The platforms have many therapeutic benefits, from increased circulation to increased flexibility and strength. The most important thing is that there is minimal stress to joints and ligaments. You can begin on very low frequency setting and steadily progress without placing more demands on your joints. We are confident that you will see some changes in strength and flexibility within weeks. By introducing yourself to vibration exercise first you will be able to slowly get into a walking program or strength training program that you could not initially have done.
We can additionally support your weight loss with attendance at our Acupuncture Crave Control Clinic on Thursday with Michael Cooper. Ear acupuncture has had a high rate of success with drug dependency, including smoking. We feel confident that it can help with other cravings too and encourage you to include a 5 week course into your program.
To give you an idea watch this short TV interview! It's inspiring.

Bone or Muscle Loss
Bone de-calcification (osteoporosis) is one of the biggest health problems especially in the elderly and women population. Many elderly people break their bones more easily when they fall because of bone decalcification; the hip is the most notorious in this respect. The onset of osteoporosis is partly due to a lack of movement, which causes muscles to gradually weaken, the circulation to diminish and the bones to be inadequately used. In addition, as a result of the ageing process, the body produces fewer hormones such as testosterone, estrogen and growth hormone. Yet it is exactly these hormones that play such an important role in the maintenance of strong bones.

The advice usually given to sufferers of this disease is to take more exercise, but that is difficult when muscles are weak, particularly in the legs. WBV offers a good alternative to vigorous impact exercise: through vibration the muscles automatically become stronger and regain their tone. The circulation improves because the blood vessels in the legs are wide open due to the vibration. At the same time, the pulsation gives a direct stimulus to bone tissue, which in turn stimulates the production of new bone tissue.

Scientific research shows that vibration training can help against osteoporosis. Recent findings show that even after only one vibration treatment, there is an increase in the hormone testosterone and growth hormone, which are so essential for strong bones.

The bones and muscles of astronauts freed from familiar strains of gravity, can weaken alarmingly. Muscles atrophy relatively quickly, while bones loose mass during prolonged exposure to weightlessness. NASA funded scientists suggest that 10 - 20 minutes a day standing on a lightly vibrating plate may prevent bone loss.
